We went to Melbourne on the train for the day because my Mum had to go down for a doctor's appointment. The kids were really excited about going for a ride on a tram. I think the crowds were a bit overwhelming for them at times. We visited the Fitzroy Gardens and the Shrine of Remembrance. We also went to Federation Square at the same time a street performer was starting his act. He was quite funny, and drawing a large crowd, so we decided to stay and watch. After a bit, Mum and I went to get us all a drink, leaving Darren and the kids watching the show. When we got back, Casey was up in front of the crowd, having been called upon by the performer to assist him. He had to pass the fire sticks (unlit) for the guy to juggle. He then proceeded to give Casey $10 for helping him, but he made him jump for it!

The Shrine was an amazing place. I had been teaching the boys about the Anzacs leading up to Anzac Day. It was quite an emotional experience - I can't imagine what it must be like to be there on Anzac Day itself. The view from the top of the Shrine was very impressive too.
We pack up and head off again on Tuesday. It's a bit strange - we've been here for two months now and have really settled in. We've made some great friends amongst the permanent residents here too, and will really miss them. They've been so great to the kids. It feels a bit like we're starting off all over again.
