Don't you love kids?! They come out with things you never expect and change the way you see life. Tara was riding her bike around the caravan park, and Brodie told her it was time to go home. He then asked me, "Can we call this home now?" -talking about the caravan. Yes, it feels like home now; and it doesn't matter where we travel, home travels with us.
We left the kids with Gran and Pop on Saturday night and went to the Mooroopna Cricket Club ball (at the insistence of my brother who happens to be president of the club). Of course, I hadn't packed anything to wear to a ball, even a country cricket club one, so I went op-shopping. The local St Vinnies saved me. My whole outfit cost $8:50! (See photo - me with my sister-in-law Michelle on the left, and her sister Amanda.) We had a great night.
Darren also started work this week at the SPC cannery. He's on afternoon shift - 3:30pm to midnight. It's good because he still gets to spend most of the day with the kids.
The other exciting news is Tara learned to ride her bike without training wheels! And I was the one who helped her!! I don't know whether I'm prouder of her or myself!!! It seems like I was always too busy to do things like that before - to have the patience and the time to give to something like that. Whenever I worry about whether we're doing the right thing, taking the kids away from friends and family and school, little things like that happen to remind me why we all really need this.
Hi Jenny,
ReplyDeleteI finally found the email with the blog link in it. I managed to lose it somehow (lol) it sounds like you guys are having an amazing time. It's extremely weird to be back at dance and to not have the boys and Tara there. And of course our ladies class just isn't the same. But everyone's chugging along great. Tyler and Jaz's son Ky started this Tuesday, Jaz has also started our Adult Hip Hop classes on Wednesdays as well as ladies class at Nerang. Ellen's back at Ladies class too and we've had a couple of new additions to our ladies group. Josh and Ajay are also dancing in our beginner hip hop at Nerang as well. We have 7 boys now in hy-fi, wooohooo! (that's including casey and brodie, just because they're not in our classes doesn't mean we've forgotten them :P ) We've got quite a few new faces and things are going great. We're uploading some new pics to the website tonight (so you guys can have a bit of a squiz). We all miss you terribly, if you like we can send you a CD with the new songs on it. :)
Please be safe, and keep in contact.
Love the HY-FI CREW XOXOXOXO
Well done to Miss Tara on ditching the training wheels - clever little girl.
ReplyDeleteYou look fantastic too, good score on the op-shop finds!
Don't ever doubt the amazing opportunity that you are giving your family. xx
Looks like you guys are having fun. Hope you have had better weather than we have had on the Coast! Lots of rain here.
ReplyDeleteGood effort by Tara with the training wheels -she must have had a good teacher.
You are doing so well with updating your blogs Jen - I am impressed!
